The North Thurston Kiwanis Foundation has been honoring those students who excel in leadership and community service since 2004. One scholarship has been awarded annually to a graduating senior from one of the North Thurston Public Schools through 2011. Starting in 2012, two awards will be given and graduating seniors from the two private Lacey High Schools (Pope John Paul II and Northwest Christian) are now eligible.
